Dudhsagar waterfalls is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary, so the flora and fauna in the area is in abundance. It is an ideal place to bird watchers. Insects, animals, plants and birds can be found in abundance here. But spotting them is a matter of luck as because of human activites on trails the animals avoid human contact. But plenty of monkeys can be seen around.
In this scenic deciduous forest the following animals can be seen: Panther, spotted deer, mouse deer, barking deer, porcupine, sambar, jungle cat, flying squirrel, giant squirrel, pangolin, slender Loris and Tigers. It’s a treat to eyes watching the monkeys scamper down the steep slopes. Though feeding monkeys is prohibited in the area and heavy fine will be imposed if found guilty, the monkeys don’t hesitate to greet the visitors by their antics.
Amongst the various poisonous snakes are Viper, Krait, Python and the place is known for King cobras. There are non-poisonous snakes too in the area.
